The folks over at HorrorAddicts.net are at it again. As with the past two summers, they have sponsored a horror writing contest just to showcase new and upcoming women in the genre. This year, each contestant was assigned a poison, an object and a place with one month to write a story and podcast it.
This year, my story is called, “The Root of All Evil”. While travelling out of the country this past spring, I got to thinking about national security, money and civil liberties. I found that when the possible and plausible are left to the imagination, reality (and those possibilities) are far more frightening than any monsters I’ve conjured in my previous stories.
